FAQ
Sounds cool! But what's a hackathon?
A hackathon is best described as an “invention marathon”. Anyone who has an interest in technology attends one to learn, build & share their creations over the course of a weekend in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. - MLH
Who can attend?
Any university student over the age of 18 can participate, regardless of major, background, or skill level. Participants must also abide by the MLH Code of Conduct.
Does this cost anything?
Admission to Hacklahoma is free for all attendees! Food, drinks, and sleeping areas are provided by us. Travel reimbursement will be granted based on our funding.
Will there be travel reimbursement?
For those driving to Hacklahoma from outside of the Norman/OKC metro area, we will reimburse up to $30 for travel costs. To maximize reimbursement, we encourage carpooling (ex: a car of four could get up to $120 in reimbursement).
Can we have teams?
We encourage everyone to work with a team! Teams may contain up to 4 people. If you don't have one before coming to Hacklahoma, no worries! We will have a team-building session at the beginning of the hacking period.
Sweet! What should I bring?
Please bring your student ID for registration! You should also bring your computer, chargers, any hardware/software you plan on using, cell phone, toiletries, sleeping bag, pillow, and a change of clothes. We also recommend you bring a power strip just in case.
